Screw Compressor
The screw compressor is a displacement compressor type where rotating screws are used to compress the air. the screw compressor compresses air continuously without pulsation. It has high efficiency at full load and low efficiency when partially loaded. It is less noisy and has a very compact design, making it suitable to use in areas with lack of space for placing the air compressors. The screw compressor has very few parts that may wear out, wherefore the cost for maintenance is lower than for piston and vane compressors. Screw compressors can come both as oil lubricant free as well as oil lubricant injected compressors.

Description :
The oil-injected rotary screw compressor is a positive displacement type compressor. A given quantity of air or gas is trapped in a compression chamber and the space that it occupies is mechanically reduced, causing a corresponding rise in pressure prior to discharge. A rotary screw compressor has a pair of intermeshing rotors housed in a suitable casing to produce compression.
Rotary screw air compressors are easy to keep up and operate. Capacity control for these compressors is proficient by variable speed and variable compressor displacement. For the latter control technique, a slide valve is positioned in the casing. As the compressor capacity is reduced, the slide valve opens, bypassing a portion of the compressed air back to the suction.
